New Wave Connecticut

Connecticut-wrapped cigars have long been a staple in the cigar world, but only Ernesto Perez-Carrillo can take a Connecticut and turn it on its head. Introducing the New Wave Connecticut cigar, a blend that is anything but typical. Designed to be rich and flavorful with a surprising kick of spice, this cigar redefines what a Connecticut can be.

One of the best cigars to enjoy in the morning coffee.

My favorite Connecticut

5 March, 2025

I’m an EPC loyalist, but I’ve grown to prefer Connecticut blends (or really any lighter blend) when out on the golf course or when I’m smoking in a setting that doesn’t give me the ability to just sit and enjoy the smoke patiently. I was thrilled to see EPC had a Connecticut blend, it’s now my go-to for those scenarios.

Surprised!

Never tried this cigar before, it was given as a gift. Very nice smoke, very impressed with its subtlety and mellowness, yet very flavorful. Looking forward to smoking more of these.

A Rich and Balanced Cigar

I found this to have great construction and a great draw. It was both sweet and peppery with a nice balance between the two. I’ve ordered more.

New Wave Connecticut

Love it. Mild to medium yet full of flavor. Smoke it as often as I can. Went through four boxes in the last year, only have a few more left. I have half a box of the New Wave Reserves stashed. Just to give you an idea of how much I like this cigar.

The Best Mild Cigar

30 August, 2024

The New Wave is the best in class for mild cigars. It never disappoints and is the perfect cigar with that first cup of coffee in the morning! The only thing better is the New Wave Reserva – which I hope returns.

Achievements like this are the confluence of skill, talent and experience. In his 50-year career, Perez-Carrillo has owned factories big and small, worked for a major corporation, and has been making cigars on his own terms for the last decade. Now a two-time Cigar of the Year recipient, the man who’s done it all in the cigar business has just done it again.
