Casa Carrillo proudly presents Battleborn, a special Veterans Day Limited Edition created to honor the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering spirit of those who put others before themselves.

The project was inspired by Lionel H. McKoy, a decorated U.S. Navy veteran who served for two decades, reaching Petty Officer Second Class and deploying aboard the USS Midway, USS Forrestal, and USS Dwight D. Eisenhower during the Gulf War and Operation Desert Storm. Since 2017, McKoy has served as Casa Carrillo’s Shipping Manager—a valued member of the family whose story embodies the essence of Battleborn.

“Lionel is part of our family,” says Ernesto Perez-Carrillo. “He served our country for 20 years, carried responsibilities most of us will never know, and then came here to work alongside us. I’ll never forget our first conversation about his time in service. At one point, he got emotional and a tear ran down his face. In that moment, I knew I was in the presence of a true hero—and Battleborn was conceived right then.”

Wrapped in a powerful USA Connecticut Broadleaf and bound with a combination of Mexican and Nicaraguan binders, the Battleborn Warriors delivers a rich, full-bodied, full-strength experience. Aged Nicaraguan fillers round out the blend, producing a cigar that is as deep and resilient as the people it honors.
